Pet insurance can save you a lot of money in the long run, but it can be a little pricey for the more comprehensive plans. Luckily, you may be eligible for discounts. For example:
- PetCare Pet Insurance offers a 5% discount for more than one pet.
- VPI Pet Insurance offers a 5% discount to IAMS Friends for Life club members, discounts for American Nurses Association members, and 5–10% discount if you enroll more than one pet.
- ASPCA Pet Insurance offers a 10% multi-pet discount.
- Embrace Pet Insurance offers a 5% discount to each cat or dog with a microchip ID implant, a 5% multi-pet discount, a 5% discount for part- or full-time veterinary employees, and a 10% discount for service dogs.
- Petplan Pet Insurance offers a 5% discount on policy premiums for online enrollment, a 10% discount off policy premiums for micro-chipped pets, a 10% discount for more than one pet, a 10% discount for veterinary staff and veterinary medical students, a 10% discount for medical service pets, and a 5% discount for Strategic Partners of Petplan.
- Union Plus Health Insurance offers a 10% discount if you enroll with Quickcare First.
- Premier Pet Insurance a 10% discount for additional pets on the same plan.
One other discount you can get is through your company if they offer pet insurance as a benefit. As we mentioned before, more and more companies are doing this because it costs them nothing; you pay 100%. Speak to your human resources department—if they don’t have it maybe they’ll consider getting on board!

I’ve tried both PetCare and VPI. I think VPI offers a better coverage. Has anyone try ASPCA before?
ASPCA has pet insurance? My dog is over 11. I can’t find any insurance for him…
Great info. I heard good things about ASPCA.
